Day 5

I have been on the Carb Detox (more info on Carb Detox Stage in earlier posts) for 5 days now because I had a drink in the weekend so decided to stay on the Carb Detox for a little longer to be on the safe side.  Tomorrow is supposed to be my cheat day but I will stay on the Carb Detox for 2 more days then start normal after that.

Day 16/Day 1 again…

January27

Disappointing day today.  I bought some new scales and it said I am 90kgs.  So I don’t know how much I really weighed in the beginning or how much I’ve lost in the past 2 weeks.  Looks like I’ll be starting all over again.  Today I thought I better have a protein only day to boost my weight loss and I found myself extremely hungry all day hence the many snacks.  I went for a 40 minute walk this morning around the neighbourhood and the weather in Hamilton was perfect for it.  Overcast with a little wind.

Around the waist at my belly button – 105cm
lower abdomin – 111cm
hip – 109cm
buttocks – 111cm
biggest bit of my thigh – 57cm
9.00 – scrambled egg
11am – skinless thigh
12pm – sliced ham
2pm – sliced ham
4pm – chicken thigh
6pm – canned tuna
8pm – sliced ham
10pm – chicken

Day 14 – End of Week 2

January25

Hi Guys

Still going strong.  As I said earlier I didn’t have a cheat day yesterday because of my misshap on Saturday and Sunday – but still going strong.  My measurements were still the same and on the broken scales its reading I am at 80kgs.  I am definately going to buy me some scales tomorrow so I’ll let you know my real weight then.  I did a half hour on the treadmill this morning which was harder than usual, don’t know why.

Todays Menu

Breakfast:  Scrambled Egg on a MultiGrain Toast
Snack:  A few slices of ham
Lunch:  Roast Chicken with tomato slices, cottage cheese and a drizzle of Spinach and Feta Dip
Snack:  Roast Chicken
Dinner:  Brisket and Cabbage out of a Boil Up

and I’ll probably have another few slices of ham for my last snack of the day.

Day 12

January23

Don’t worry I’m still on The Body Trim.  Had a little muck up on Saturday Night with a couple Steinlagers…..lol.  It was very hard to sit there and watch my brother and sister enjoying a nice cold beer.  I lasted for a little while but then gave in.  And on Sunday Afternoon I had a Mc Chicken Burger from McDonald’s.  I am totally back on track today though and NO CHEAT DAY FOR ME THIS WEEK.  lol.  See you on Weigh In day…

Day 9

January19

On Day 9 I am now really getting used to having low carbs.  The craving for bread with every meal, potatoes or rice or pasta is finally disappearing.  Its true, they do eventually subside.  I welcome the new found energy in the mornings and I am loving the small frequent meals as opposed to the 2 or 3 eat till I burst meals a day.  Haven’t got new scales yet.  Kept to the plan….intense in the beginning but easier and easier as time goes by.  My friend Saff had her cheat day today.  Thank goodness I warned her about going all out.

Todays Meals

30 minute walk
Breakfast – scrambled egg, tomato, red onion, garlic on a piece on Multi Grain toast
Snack – Low Carb, Low Sugar Sausage
Lunch – Skinless Chicken Thigh with a Caesar Salad
Snack – Another sausage
Dinner – Chicken Soup
Snack – 1 boiled egg

Day 7 and Day 8

January18

Day 7 was an absolute blow out of a cheat day.  After breakfast and Lunch I felt sooooo YUCK!  I’m never going to go all out on cheat day again.  It just made me feel FAT and my body felt really bad and lazy afterwards.

30 minute morning walk
Breakfast – Massive McMuffin Combo
Snack – 1 boiled egg
Lunch – KFC Snack Box
Snack – 1 boiled egg
Dinner  – 1 boiled egg
Snack – Summer Roll Chocolate Bar

Day 8 – I woke up this morning with no energy what-so-ever and I put that down to what I was eating on Cheat Day.  EWWWW.  Fortunately my cheat day didn’t have an impact on my weight loss.  I have lost 4kg since my first weigh in and I feel GREAT!  Yay The Body Trim Diet Works.  I couldn’t find the measure tape but I will put my measurements up when I find it.

TODAY’S  MENU

9.00 – 15 minute walk on treadmill
10.00 – Scrambled egg on a piece of Multi Grain toast
12.00 – 1 boiled egg
2.00 – Pork steak and mushrooms, caesar salad with a little lite feta & garlic salad dressing

I will probably have a boiled egg for a snack and chicken soup for dinner followed by another 15 minutes on the treadmill and another boiled egg for my last snack of the day.

Day 6

January16

On The Body Trim we are allowed 1 cheat day which consists on 2 cheat meals (breakfast and lunch).  You have to still have your protein snacks in between and after dinner.  The catch is that you have to have a PROTEIN ONLY DAY the day before your cheat day to balance out your cheat day.  My cheat day is the 7th day so it was only protein for me today.  I will admit that I’m looking forward to a burger king burger and fries tomorrow….I know the protein only day is supposed to make up for your cheat day but I just can’t help wondering if it will hinder my progress.  I guess we’ll find out on Weigh in day on Wednesday.

12.00 – hard boiled egg
1.00 – piece of steak
4.00 – hard boiled egg

Day 5

January15

Eating 6 times a day is soooooo great especially after the first 3 days.  My dilema at the moment is remembering the 3 hour rule.  The 3 hour rule on The Body Trim Diet is the frequency in which to eat.  They say to eat every 3 hours or if you want you can eat up to every hour by eating protein snacks inbetween your meals.

EXAMPLE GUIDE:
8.00 Breakfast Meal
9.00 Protein Snack
10.00 Protein Snack
11.00 Protein Snack
12.00 Lunch Meal

EXAMPLE GUIDE:

8.00  Dinner

I think the 3 hour rule is crucial to your weight loss success as it’s feeding your metabolism and getting it into fat burning mode so that your body is always burning fat rather than storing it.  I have messed up where I’ve had a meal and have forgotten to have a snack and before you know it, its been 4 hours and the other problem I have is remembering to have a snack after dinner.  If I’m not hungry I easily forget to have my protein snack but it’s so important not to forget to have your protein before you go to bed because this will keep your body burning fat while you sleep.  I wonder how much of a hindrance this has had (if any) to my weight loss.  I guess only the results could answer that question.  Can’t wait for weigh in day on Wednesday!

8.50 – scrambled egg on toast with tomato
10.30 – skinless chicken thigh
1.30 – beef stew with brocolli, mushroom, onion and tomato
4.30 – 1 hard boiled egg
7.00 – beef stir fry
9.00 – hard boiled egg

Day 4

January14

Yes Yes Yes!  I LOVE VEGIES so much.  Who knew that after only 3 days of full on protein that I could have found a knew appreciation for vegetables and this mornings toast was the most best piece of toast I have ever had in my life……lol…..oh and walking on the treadmill is sooo much more intense than walking around a couple of blocks in the neighbourhood.  After 10 minutes of walking in one speed Iwould get bord and increase the speed.  GREAT WALK….I think I over did it with dinner because I was too full to have a snack afterwards.  On The Body Trim we are supposed to have at least 3 meals and 3 protein snacks per day to feed our natural fat burning metabolism.

Day 4 Menu

8.30 – Scrambled egg with tomato, onion, garlic and mushrooms on a piece of multigrain toast
9.30 – Half hour walk on the treadmill
12.00 – 1 Soft boiled egg with salt and pepper
4.00pm – Beef and Veggie Soup
5.00 – 1 Hard boiled egg
6.00 –  Roast Lamb with a lettece, tomato and cucumber caesar salad with a drizzle of salad dressing

Day 3

January13

The last day of the CARB DETOX (thank goodness) and I made it.  I have been having a little trouble with my protein portion size which is supposed to be 100grams (roughly the size of your fist) and 150grams for men.  I have been winging the portion size but I have decided to buy some scales tomorrow.  I don’t want the protein portion size of my diet to be the demise of my weight loss.

On the Body Trim Diet it is recommended to do 10,000 steps everyday.  I think I achieved that today with my 36minute walk this morning which is around 5500 steps and I took the kids to the museum today and walked around looking at the exhibits for 2hours so I think I’m safe….lol

My Protein Menu for today:

8.45 – Soft boiled egg with salt and pepper
10.15 – Steak mince paddy with five spice, garlic, salt, pepper and a little tomato sauce
1.45 – Steak mince paddy, 1 egg
6.00 – Hard boiled egg
7.30 – Scrambled egg with corriander, garlic salt, salt and pepper
I am looking forward to tomorrow.  I definitely have a new appreciation for veggies.
